The Corktown First Team competes in the UWS National League’s Midwest Conference.
The First Team made the UWS Playoffs in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
The First Team advanced to the 2017 UWS National Championships losing to the defending champions Santa Clarita Heat.
The Corktown Reserve Team competes in the UWS2 League, MPSL and MSA State Cup.
Program players have won numerous local, state and regional titles over the years.
Aaron has been coaching for 21 years, 7 of them at the women’s pro-am level in both the WPSL and UWS. He is licensed by USSF, NSCAA (USC), and has earned FA Diplomas in Sport Psychology and Club Management. Aaron served as the Director of Coaching for Madison FC (4 years) and later Clawson Youth Soccer Club (5 years), where he had a short stint working with and integrating the famed Coerver Coaching Method into his repertoire. At the high school level, he spent 5 years at Warren De La Salle Collegiate, amassing multiple Catholic League Titles and tournament trophies. During his days as a player, Aaron played club ball for the Warren Crusaders, Sterling Clinton Soccer Club, and then at Oakland University. He attended Madison Heights Lamphere High School, where he helped launch the soccer program as a sophomore in 1997 and captained the team each year. In business, he has carried on the 100+ year-old Roy family tradition of carpentry and home remodeling as the owner of Roy-Built Construction of Metro Detroit. Coach Aaron is a proud parishioner of Ste. Anne de Detroit Basilica and resides in Madison Heights.
Shuk comes to Corktown AFC while currently serving as Michigan Rush's Director of Goalkeeping for the past 5 years. Shuk was with the Rochester Soccer Club for 11 years, serving as the Director of Coaching and Technical Director during his tenure. Shuk holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) “A” License and Instructor's License, as well as Goalkeeper and National Youth License. He also is the lead Goalkeeper Coach Instructor for the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) Coaching Education Staff. He is part of the United Soccer Coaches Academy and Goalkeeper Staff. Along with these duties, Shuk also is the MSYSA Girls ODP Goalkeeper Director and USY Region II Goalkeeper Director. Shuk’s playing experience includes stints with the Detroit Wheels in the USISL and the Detroit Arsenal in the NPSL as well as Toledo United in the PLA. Currently, he is a goalkeeper coach with AFC Ann Arbor's Men's program in the USL2.
Corktown AFC is excited to welcome Dave "Giggsy" Demeter, along with his vast array of coaching experience, to its coaching staff. Dave has served as the Director of Coaching for the Michigan Rush Downriver Youth Soccer Club since 2012 (coaching within the Downriver and Northville branches of the club since 2009), growing and guiding the Downriver club from a small community-club into a club that is still true to its tight-knit community roots, but is now very competitive with many much larger and more well-established clubs across the state. Beyond that, Dave has served as an assistant coach with the Madonna University Men's Soccer Program since 2016 and served as an assistant for the University of Detroit Mercy Men's Soccer Program for 5 years prior, with both schools experiencing great success during his tenure there. Dave has also worked with the Michigan ODP program for 6 years, including serving annually as the head coach of the U13 boys team and being entrusted with selecting and developing players at the programs main inception point since 2017. Coach Dave resides in Southgate, MI where he was born and raised. He attended Wayne State University where he earned his B.A. in Communications and Public Relations.
Todd has coached soccer for 25 years. Currently he is the head coach at Troy Athens High School for both the boys and the girls. Prior to Athens, he coached the varsity boys' and girls' teams at Rochester High School. Todd spent 9 years on the staff at the Vardar Soccer Club, where he coached on the boys' side and girls' ECNL teams. Heugh is a teacher in the Troy School District.
Matt stepped into the realm of coaching just a couple of years ago, but his knowledge of the game is vast. He is currently the girl's varsity assistant at Fraser High School and the boy's varsity assistant at De La Salle Collegiate. As the youth coordinator at Lake St Clair Soccer Club, Matt oversees and designs their youth camp programs.
As a player, he was a multiple-year All-State selection at Fraser High School while also serving as team captain. After high school, Matt went on to play at Siena Heights University, where he was also named team captain of the Saints program.
Outside of soccer, Coach Matt is a teacher at St. Germaine Catholic School in Saint Clair Shores, MI.
Skipper joins Corktown AFC as General Manager for 2021. He has 20 years of coaching experience. Skipper served as a head coach and general manager in the UWS and WPSL for 8 years. During that time, Skipper won a WPSL U20 National Championship. He currently serves as an assistant coach at De La Salle Collegiate and as a club coach for Nationals. Skipper holds a USSF C License.
